If you are a happy owner of the Siemens dishwasher, and once you noticed the E24 Error code on the main display of your appliance, it means that your machine is having difficulties with draining the water. The code is usually accompanied by an inability to press any of the buttons. For some reason, the drain pump can not let the water out.
What can cause the E24 Error?
Besides the simplest explanation, the one-time failure of the control panel, there is one more reason for the E24 Error, which is the bent or twisted drain hosepipe. The clog is another possible cause — the hosepipe, filter, or siphon can be plugged.
The failure of the pump can also lead to the indication of the E24 error code on the screen, along with the broken water-level detector.
How to fix the E24 Error?
First of all, make sure it wasn’t the system glitch, that led to the occurrence of this code. Reboot your machine, giving it from 10 to 15 minutes of rest. If the error is still shown on the screen, start inspecting the particles of the machine.
Detach and rinse all the components of the drain system —start with the hose and follow with the siphon, that is most likely to be clogged. Proceed with checking the drain filter, which has to be rinsed at least once a month, in order to provide a proper draining of the water in your machine.
To get to the filter, remove the sprinkler, take out the filter, wash it, but do not rush to install it in place. Check the mobility of the impeller. There may also be dirt, pieces of food, or a greasy plug that has affected the impeller’s mobility.
Now move to the pump itself. The component is located near the heating element, and you have to turn the device upside-down and relive the side panels to get to it. To take the pump out — rotate it clockwise and carefully pull. Check it for visible signs of damage and clogs, clean.
There is one way to reset the error, but please k no one, that this is only a temporary measure and you will still have to eliminate the real reason of the E24 Error.
Switch the device on, wait for the pump to start working, and for water to start filling the tank. After 30 secs open and close back the door. The error will disappear from the display and you will be able to complete the washing cycle.
